“See almost 1600 vehicles in 16 minutes by clicking on the video of the Bay to Birdwood below”
On the 16th October 2022, after two years off, the Bay to Birdwood roared back to life.
Classic and vintage vehicles travelled through the streets of Adelaide, South Australia’s capital city.
They wound their way up through the Adelaide Hills along 67kms of spectator filled roads and finished at the National Motor Museum at Birdwood.
The inaugural Bay to Birdwood began in 1980 and is one of the world’s great historic motoring events.
Over 40 years ago, our friend’s dad entered his 1924 Dodge in the first Bay to Birdwood. The same vehicle has entered every Bay to Birdwood and features at the end of our video along with his second vehicle ‘Rum Runner’.
The Bay to Birdwood is an iconic event open to all unmodified vehicles greater than 30 years of age. Australia has a high survival rate of old vehicles and South Australia has the highest per capita rate of ownership of historic vehicles in Australia.
The Bay to Birdwood Run has established itself as Australia’s premier motoring event.
