What is Finchy’s Australia?
Finchy’s Australia is two adventurous Aussies who have been exploring Australia for over 3 decades sharing their experience of Australian travel, places, people and stories.
Finchy and Miss Linda have a wealth of real life stories created through a lifetime of travelling Australia on boats, motorbikes, trains, planes, cars, walking, even hitchhiking back in the day.
Adventures like travelling and working the length of the mighty Murray River in an old wooden boat or many trips crisscrossing the country on a Harley Davidson with a dog on the tank.
It is inevitable when you travel and work extensively across a great country like Australia, that you will meet interesting, funny and unique people.
Finchy reckons, “I am compelled to introduce you to those stories. Why? Because they are too good not to! Have you ever wondered, How did I get here? How did that happen? or even, What just happened? Our lives seem to be a series of highlight reels of interesting situations which ask all the above questions and more.
As far as Miss Linda goes, I am sure she got her first camera the same day she was born. Her photographic portfolio is a pictorial history of a country and a lifestyle. She has a natural ability and an eye for capturing unique moments in time, moments that tell stories of great people, places and adventures. Moments that need to be shared.”

We are naturally nomadic and “Finchy’s Australia” follows that nomadic journey. A journey that has been hilarious, sometimes dangerous, interesting but always exciting. It is a lifestyle that will continue to surprise as we share our ongoing adventures and travels.

We both traveled this ‘wide brown land with jeweled sea’s’ with our families as children. Then we met in Western Australia in 1987 and Finchys Australia began. We have lived and worked in every Australian state, seen many things that are not even possible to see anymore like being at the Twelve Apostles the day that London Bridge fell down.
